Dedicated to the martyrs who sacrificed gloriously in this battle! Dedicated to the young friends of the new century! Dedicated to all comrades and friends who are enthusiastic about the revolutionary, modern, and standardized development of our army! The Qiajiang Island Campaign was the first joint land, sea, and air operation carried out by the People's Liberation Army of China. Although the scale was small and the number of troops involved was limited, its significance was profound. The victory in this campaign demonstrated the strong determination and will of the Chinese government and people to prevent foreign forces from interfering in China's internal affairs. It also provided valuable experience for our army in joint amphibious landing operations, played a significant role in accelerating the modernization and standardization of our army, and still holds certain reference and guiding significance for us today in carrying out China's distinctive military transformation and preparing for military struggles.
The work vividly recreates the grand scenes of the first joint land, sea, and air amphibious landing operation of the People's Republic, based on a large number of firsthand materials rescued from the mouths of war veterans in their twilight years. It praises the outstanding political, military, and diplomatic strategies of the older generation of revolutionaries and military strategists, such as Mao Zedong and Peng Dehuai, in upholding national unity and sovereignty and accomplishing the great task of unifying the motherland. It lauds the exceptional command capabilities of senior commanders like Zhang Aiping, and celebrates the heroic deeds of the soldiers from all three branches of the army who fought bravely, fearlessly sacrificed, and closely coordinated to achieve glorious victories against a superior-equipped enemy with inferior equipment.
