Features: English writing has always been a challenging part for Chinese students. Many report that memorizing numerous online sample essays has yielded minimal results. Beyond grammar and vocabulary issues, many students complain about being clueless when faced with essay topics, despite having a wealth of examples but no idea how to organize them, leaving them unable to start writing. Clearly, they are not just struggling with "writing poorly" but with "not knowing how to write." During the writing process of this book, the authors conducted interviews with a large number of students and found that many lacked good writing habits and followed unscientific writing processes, with missing writing skills. Addressing the common problems faced by students, this book is designed for IELTS test-takers scoring 7 or below, offering the following assistance:
1. Strengthening a scientific writing process: From understanding the topic to brainstorming, outlining, and finally reviewing the entire text. It breaks down each step in detail, providing hands-on guidance to solve students' doubts about "how to write," "where to start," and "what to do at each step."
2. Conducting targeted skill training: The skill orientation of the IELTS writing exam is highly evident. The two essays separately assess different writing skills, such as describing data, analyzing and comparing, presenting opinions, and proving points. Therefore, after a detailed analysis of official sample essays, examiner comments, and official scoring guidelines, the authors have categorized the skills tested in the IELTS writing exam into three difficulty levels, progressing from easy to advanced, guiding students step by step.
3. Covering scenarios and topics throughout the book: With skill training as the core, the book supplements extensive in-class and after-class exercises. By integrating scenarios and topics, it connects all lessons, aiming to help students, through this book, to develop the ability to speak and argue convincingly on various essay topics (e.g., family-related, environmental issues, etc.). It seeks to make students understand IELTS writing exam points and achieve high scores in a relaxed and engaging learning environment.
