Features: As is well known, reading is a crucial aspect of improving foreign language skills. Especially for Japanese, which has a rich vocabulary that varies by context and occasion, and is characterized by its lack of standardized and simplified grammar, extensive reading is particularly important for grasping the correct usage of the language and understanding the overall meaning of sentences. Currently, Japanese learners often struggle to find articles that are linguistically, appropriately challenging, rich in content, and diverse in style, making it difficult to achieve the goal of supplementing knowledge and improving Japanese proficiency through reading. Some students blindly practice simplified exercises to prepare for Japanese proficiency exams, which hinders their actual improvement in the language and yields poor results. During the process of teaching Japanese as a major, the editors have personally experienced the negative impact of these issues. Therefore, they have carefully selected 100 modern Japanese articles on various subjects from a large collection of texts, publishing them in two volumes, each containing 50 articles. Through editing and organization, they are now made available to a broad audience of Japanese learners. As an indispensable teaching and learning material for Japanese, the main objective of this book is to strengthen the mastery of fundamental vocabulary knowledge through extensive reading, enhance practical language application skills, cultivate a holistic understanding of Japanese, and deepen comprehension of various aspects of Japan and the thinking patterns of Japanese people, ultimately achieving true proficiency in Japanese and the ability to communicate effectively. The articles in this book are relatively independent of each other and are arranged in order of increasing difficulty, offering rich and diverse content with strong readability. Difficult or unfamiliar vocabulary is accompanied by pronunciation and definitions, facilitating easier comprehension.
