Features: As a popular martial arts fitness activity, Lánquán (Orchid Fist) has been widely spread both in China and abroad. Due to its unique characteristics—such as the fusion of martial arts and dance, the balance of strength and flexibility, elegant postures, melodious music, ease of learning and practice, and suitability for all ages—it has been deeply loved by the general public, especially women. To further standardize and improve the practice level of Mulanquan (Butterfly Fist) while popularizing it, and to help enthusiasts gain a deeper understanding and mastery of the three national standard routines, we have, after years of research and practice, compiled this teaching. Starting from each movement, we have further broken down the routines into individual actions and set corresponding commands to facilitate group teaching. Each movement mainly consists of three parts:
1. Action Description: Based on the official text of the national standard routines, we have made reasonable categorization, revision, and refinement. Illustrations have been replaced with photographs for better visual clarity. Some actions have been reasonably revised and added. Directions are now expressed using azimuth angles.
2. Key Points of Movement: Following the characteristics of Mulanquan, especially its body rhythm requirements, we provide detailed explanations of each movement’s posture, helping learners and practitioners grasp the theory, master the key points, and improve their skills.
3. Corresponding Music: Based on the melodic and rhythmic features of the accompanying music, we align each movement with its corresponding musical position to ensure uniformity and coherence during group practice, making music the soul of Mulanquan.
This book is rich in illustrations and text, serving as both teaching material for Mulanquan coaches and instructors, and a reference for enthusiasts seeking to improve their own practice skills. Truly mastering the artistic skills of Mulanquan is no easy task. Beginners should gradually understand and practice repeatedly; coaches and instructors should also continuously improve their own performance levels and teach in a step-by-step, progressive manner.
