Chapters 1, 2, and 3 form the first part, which, on the basis of reviewing the relevant theories of new institutional economics and financial development theory, explores the relationship between financial institutions and economic development, as well as the relationship between rural financial institutions and rural economic development, leading to the writing intention of this book: it is precisely because of the inseparable correlation between rural financial institutions and rural economic development that prompts the author to start with financial institutions to discuss the issues of China's rural financial reform. Chapters 4 to 6 form the second part, which is the core of the entire book. The third part is the informal financial institutions of China's rural areas, which is Chapter 7.
