Features: The "Chinese Reading and Writing Tutorial" is a core foundational course textbook project of Peking University from 2005 to 2006. The entire series consists of three levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—with each level divided into two volumes (I and II). The beginner level is designed for international students with a certain foundation in Chinese, who have mastered 800–1,000 Chinese vocabulary and have a Chinese proficiency equivalent to HSK Level 3. This book emphasizes the integration of reading and writing. It aims to cultivate learners' basic reading and writing skills. Both the reading and writing sections are structured and designed based on advanced theoretical achievements in Chinese language teaching circles at home and abroad, striving to create a rigorous and comprehensive training system for Chinese reading and writing. Upon completing this stage of the, learners should reach the initial intermediate level. This series of reading and writing textbooks was developed to meet the needs of pre-university Chinese language teaching for international students. It is divided into three levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—with each level further divided into two volumes (I and II), suitable for international students preparing to enter or who have already entered universities in China for professional studies, as well as for Chinese language learners. In terms of format, each volume is divided into 12 lessons, with each lesson containing two reading texts and one writing exercise, along with vocabulary, exercises, related links, and summaries.
