Features: This book is one of the "Collected Notes on Qing Historical Materials," and the author Tan Mian was a patriotic historian in the 17th century. Beiyoulu records his experiences and observations during his journey to Beijing from 1653 to 1656, along with some poems and writings he composed. The entire book consists of nine volumes, including two volumes each on Jiqing (Journey), Jiyou (Postal Routes), Jiyong (Swimming), and Jiwen (Records of Events), plus one volume of Jiwen (Records of Writings). Through these writings, we can see the hardships of this patriotic historian in collecting historical materials and verifying facts for his work Guoque (Comprehensive History of the Nation), as well as the strong patriotic sentiments expressed by the author as a surviving loyalist of the Ming Dynasty.
