Features: Based on Marxist trade union theory, this book employs sociological theories such as structural functional theory, social demand theory, social role and interaction theory, and social interest game theory to conduct an extensive and in-depth exploration of the social responsibilities of trade unions under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. It elaborates on the fundamental connotations, scope, and interrelationships of trade union social responsibilities guided by the Scientific Outlook on Development. Additionally, drawing on the "Chinese experience," it proposes the primary pathways for trade unions to fulfill their social responsibilities in the practice of building a socialist "harmonious society." In the context of a socialist market economy during the period of social transformation and the diversification of interest groups, the Chinese trade unions, as mass organizations of the working class, increasingly assume the fundamental social responsibilities of regulating social interests and resolving contradictions in labor relations, as well as representing and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the broad working masses. These responsibilities form a new system of accountability alongside other social responsibilities of trade unions.
