Features: We believe that exploring why a person fails is more meaningful than exploring why they succeed, and examining the reasons behind the failures of successful individuals is even more intriguing. Behind success, apart from personal abilities, factors like opportunity, timing, and circumstances also play a significant role. When facing failure, a person often fights to the utmost, and when they cannot escape it despite their struggles, there are inevitably many unavoidable factors at play. History is created by people, and in turn, it shapes their destinies. History has generously given many people opportunities to become legendary heroes; equally, it has mercilessly shattered the lives of some and led them to their doom. In Chinese history, there is a group of people who are both beneficiaries and victims of history. They seized rare opportunities presented by history, achieved earth-shaking accomplishments, rewritten and created history, but ultimately had to accept the tragic fate of failure and embark on a path of unnatural death. Their "success" and "failure" are essentially the result of a collision between human nature and historical rules. The Blind Spots of Human Nature—The Deaths of Ten Famous Ministers in Chinese History and The Traps of Human Nature—The Deaths of Ten Famous Generals in Chinese History are about such successful individuals who ultimately failed. Exploring the reasons behind their success or failure from a moral perspective is superficial; examining them from social or historical angles also seems a bit forced—explaining their success doesn’t explain their failure, and vice versa. Therefore, we attempt to explore from an individual perspective, focusing on their personalities, and we find that not only are there clear historical events, figures, and stories, but there are also clear answers. Exploring the inherent personality reasons behind individual success or failure, we believe this should also be of interest and necessity to readers.
