Features: We believe that exploring why a person fails is more meaningful than exploring why they succeed, and delving into the reasons behind a successful person's failure is even more intriguing. Behind success, apart from personal ability, factors like opportunity, timing, and circumstances also play a significant role. When facing failure, a person often fights with all their might, and when they cannot escape it, there are naturally many inevitable factors at play. History is created by people, and in turn, it shapes their fate. History has generously given many people opportunities to become legendary heroes; at the same time, it has mercilessly shattered the lives of some and led them to their doom. In Chinese history, there is a group of people who are both beneficiaries and victims of history. They seized rare opportunities in history, achieved earth-shaking feats, rewritten and created history, but ultimately had to accept the tragic fate of failure and walk a path of unnatural death. Their "success" and "failure" are, in fact, the result of a collision between human nature and historical rules. The Blind Spots of Human Nature—The Deaths of Ten Prominent Officials in Chinese History and The Traps of Human Nature—The Deaths of Ten Military Commanders in Chinese History are about such successful people who ultimately failed. Exploring the reasons behind their success and failure from a moral perspective is superficial; examining them from social and historical angles also seems a bit forced—explaining their success but not their failure, or vice versa. Therefore, we attempt to explore from a personal perspective, delving into their own personalities, and we find that here, not only are there clear historical events, figures, and stories, but there are also clear answers. Exploring the internal personality reasons behind personal success and failure, we believe this should also be of interest and necessity to readers.
