Will a baby's burn leave a scar?

Patient's question:

A two-week-old baby got a piece of skin off their face, but there was no bleeding, just some weeping. It was disinfected and then scabbed over. The scab naturally fell off on its own. I just don't know if it will leave a scar. Will a burn on a baby leave a scar?

Doctor's answer:

A first-degree burn is very mild. After a burn, the skin becomes red, swollen, painful, puffy, weepy, and edematous. When lightly pressed on the burn area, it turns white, but there are no blisters.
2. A second-degree burn is deeper. Blisters are present on the skin. The base of the blisters is red or white. It is filled with clear, viscous fluid. When it is gently touched, sensitive, or pressed, it turns white.
3. A third-degree burn is very deep. The burn surface can be white, leathery, or even black.
