Here, there are countless stories—stories that feature a father's humorous and equal gaze, a mother's heartwarming love, and a cascade of tearful moments. This volume, I Am a Clownfish, is one of the books in Campus Stories for Primary School Students. It tells the story of a boy named "Clownfish" online, who, after transferring from a rural school to the city, becomes known as the "Windsock."
My name is Clownfish, of course, that's my online alias. My real name is Fei Yang. Around the time I was six years old, my father won a scholarship and had to study in the United States. My mother, as a companion, followed him to America. As for me, I was tricked to Kuling and Shucun Village and left in the care of my grandmother. Tang Miao was right—adults are all liars. The first friend I made in Kuling Tree Village wasn't a person but a goose. The second friend I made there wasn't a person but a dog. The third friend I made there wasn't even a person, but I was the team leader and a model student at Kuling Tree Village Primary School. I was always in the top five in my grade, and both teachers and classmates liked me. I gave myself the nickname "Windsock." Later, when I transferred to the city, I became known as "Clownfish." Sigh, from Windsock to Clownfish, a forty-kilometer journey.
