As a poem goes: Some treat history as soft clay to be freely molded in a workshop; Some see history as a fitting yet ever-changing robe; Some regard history as swords, armor, and fortresses; And some view history as a numerical game that can be positive or negative. Is history really like that? No! History has a soul and dignity, history is a person, and a person is part of history. History is both a wise teacher and a helpful friend to humans. Despite the playful and varied reinterpretations of history in recent years, we remain deeply attached to the authentic and vibrant history. Here, we proudly present the "100 Treasures of Chinese History and Culture in the Past Century" series. Leveraging the unique resource advantages of the renowned brand of historical and cultural materials, this series strives to explore the "first-hand experiences, observations, and hearsay" of historical figures, revealing the behind-the-scenes stories of major historical events little known to the public through vivid primary sources. It introduces the legendary experiences and interesting anecdotes of historical figures, blending history with personalities. From the unique perspectives of friends, foes, and neutral parties, it compiles the diverse tapestry of human life, interprets the vicissitudes of the world, and records the journey from the closed-off, backward, and war-torn old China to the bright new China. This is a unique and comprehensive series of book collections that offers an insightful understanding of China's history over the past century.
