Features: The Three Principles of the I Ching in Understanding the World
1. [Changeability]: Nothing in the universe is unchanging. This change does not refer to the relative motion between objects. Rather, it means that all things, all people, and their thought activities are constantly changing and developing, just like flowing water, with every moment being new.
2. [Simplicity]: All changing things, no matter how complex or difficult to understand, follow a simple pattern. With sufficient wisdom and mastery of high-level methods, everything becomes simple and clear. Specifically, the changes and developments of all things are inseparable from the spatiotemporal patterns of the Eight Trigrams, the Sixty-Four Hexagrams, and other predictive methods. The I Ching's great achievements in understanding the world are unattainable by any science.
3. [Inchangeability]: It is the recognition tool used for the simple principles. Since everything in the universe is constantly changing, to understand it, we must have an unchanging tool, like a ruler, to measure the length of an object. In the I Ching, there are the Ten Heavenly Stems, the Twelve Earthly Branches, hexagram numbers, and the Five Elements' mutual control, as well as a series of unchanging definitions and rules, forming an incredibly profound and mystical structure of I Ching studies.
The I Ching seems unfathomable, but in reality, it originates from the world and must also guide it. The I Ching is an exploration of the mysteries of the universe, a summary of life philosophy, and an overview of the relationship between heaven, earth, and humanity. A thousand people reading the I Ching may have a thousand different interpretations, but they will also gain a thousand unique insights.
