Features: Huanggang High School, established in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the National Spiritual Civilization Construction."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students, characterized by "comprehensive development combined with specialized skills." It has pioneered a teaching style that emphasizes "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and fostering innovation." The outstanding performance of Huanggang High School in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and it is merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What is its ability to turn sand into a tower? What is its skill in transforming ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intent of test setters and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly encourages students to break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We advocate that students engage in flexible and diverse exercises with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is anything else that Huanggang High School has achieved success in, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and outstanding teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam Second and Third-Round Training Questions."
The "Huanggang High School Exam Papers" are based on the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Exam Syllabus," highlighting the role of "exams" in the process of students developing learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. They reflect the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' exceptional performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice. The series also features the following characteristics:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The arrangement of exercises in this series focuses on reinforcing and gradually improving the key points, types, and methods associated with each topic. The positioning of the series is to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive, ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive exercises.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most middle schools. Most questions are labeled with A, B, or C to indicate their difficulty level, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough solutions provided for difficult questions. It is worth mentioning that the insightful hints included sometimes play a pivotal role in guiding students to the solution.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the questions written by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
