Collected Works Outside the Collection

Author: Lu Xun
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-12-01
Features: This collection includes poems and essays that were not included in the author's previously published prose collections before 1933. It was published by Shanghai Qunzhong Book Company in May 1935, and only one edition was printed during the author's lifetime. This edition omits only two pieces that were later included in Three Whirlwinds: the preface A Small Introduction and the translation Poems by Petofi Sandor. The "Supplementary Notes" for the three essays After Chewing, Chewing Is Not "Boring", and "Pastoral Thought" were personally copied by the author after the book's publication and were originally intended for Collected Works Outside the Collected Works. They are now moved to the relevant main texts in this collection. The letter in Correspondence (Replied to Mei Jiang) was added during this copying process. The second post-publication note was omitted in the first edition and has now been included. The old-style poems are arranged in chronological order of composition.
