Shi Yi Ji Kao - (Complete Ten Volumes)

Publishing Date: 2006-08-01
Features: Poetic Meaning Investigation, originally a project supported by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education for higher education science and technology development. The Gu Feng section was previously published under the title Investigation of the Hundred Interpretations of the Book of Songs by Shanxi Ancient Books Publishing House. This edition includes the entire manuscript, including Ya and Song. Following the names of Ming Dynasty works such as Investigation of the Five Classics and Investigation of the Classics, the title was changed to Poetic Meaning Investigation, which aligns more closely with the content of the book. For the reissue of the Gu Feng section, apart from obvious errors, no major changes were made. Most of these notes are from ancient scholars' research records, with extensive references to literature. When multiple scholars cite the same classical text but with differing wording, we retained the original text due to the variations in the versions used. For obvious errors, such as miswriting "" as "" or "" as "," we corrected them directly without providing textual criticism notes. For the quoted original texts, the majority were verified. When ancient scholars cited works, there was often considerable flexibility, and it was common to add or omit words. For minor textual discrepancies, we generally enclosed the text in quotation marks, while for summaries of the main ideas, we did not use quotation marks. To avoid unnecessary complexity and potential misunderstandings, we omitted the inner quotation marks in single quotes, except where it was particularly important to retain them. Punctuation work must be meticulous, but it is also a headache—each review reveals new issues. For this reissue, there will likely still be many errors, and we welcome corrections from experts.
