Features: Tang poetry holds an important position in the splendid ancient Chinese poetry. The Tang poetry is vast and diverse, encompassing a wide range of content. This volume of Three Hundred Tang Poems is divided into eight volumes, with selected poems categorized into six types: Five-Character Ancient Poetry, Seven-Character Ancient Poetry, Five-Character Regulated Verse, Seven-Character Regulated Verse, Five-Character Quatrain, and Seven-Character Quatrain. Lyrics are appended after each category. The title follows the saying "three hundred poems," where "three hundred" is a general term, and in reality, it includes 320 poems. In the preface, Mr. Hongtang Tuishi wrote: "This collection focuses on the most celebrated works in Tang poetry, selecting the most important ones, with dozens of poems for each category, totaling over three hundred. It is compiled into a book to serve as a household textbook, allowing children to learn from a young age, so that even in old age, they cannot forget it. Is it not far superior to A Thousand Poems for Children?" This shows that the book was originally intended to help children learn. His work can be considered quite well done: first, the target audience is children with weaker comprehension, so he carefully selected poems that are easy to memorize; second, since it is to be used as a "household textbook," it must not mislead the young, so he meticulously and strictly selected the works, ensuring that most of the selected poems are the most outstanding representatives of Tang poetry.
