Features: Sixty years after the completion of The German Ideology, this book does not aim to systematically and comprehensively re-examine the concept of "ideology" or ideological issues. Instead, under the guidance of the developing Marxist ideology theory and in the context of reflecting on the process of socialist modernization, it offers new reflections and explorations on the content of China's socialist ideology system and the tasks of ideological work. To achieve this, it is first necessary to have a clear understanding of the fundamental characteristics of contemporary Chinese society. Simply put, China is a developing socialist country with a long cultural tradition, situated in the modern world. The era-specific, national, institutional, and cultural characteristics it embodies present new challenges and opportunities for ideological work in the current context. To conduct in-depth research on some issues in the field of contemporary Chinese ideology through collective efforts and to systematically reflect on the mainstream ideology work in modern Chinese society from perspectives such as the international context (Part I), era characteristics (Part II), and theoretical foundations (Part III), scholars from various disciplines at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and East China Normal University have collaborated to produce this book. It is hoped that readers and the academic community, especially those with both theoretical and practical interests in ideological issues, will find it helpful.
