Features: This book is a research outcome of the sub-project "Innovation and Practice of the Application-Oriented Talent Cultivation System in Chinese Higher Education in the 21st Century" under the National "Five-Year Plan" Project of Educational Science. It is compiled based on the newly promulgated basic requirements for teaching of drawing courses by the Ministry of Education, fully summarizing the teaching reform experiences of several institutions such as Hubei University of Technology, Henan University of Science and Technology, Zhuzhou Institute of Technology, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Shenyang Jianzhu University, South China University of Technology, Xi'an Technological University, and Changchun Institute of Engineering Technology in recent years. The book integrates engineering drawing knowledge with computer drawing content, combining traditional teaching methods with modern teaching methods. In terms of content, it emphasizes the application-oriented characteristics, appropriately reducing some graphical methods in descriptive geometry to strengthen the cultivation of graphical skills. The book consists of 12 chapters, including basic knowledge of drawing and drawing methods, fundamentals of projection, basic solids and surface intersections, views of composite bodies, isometric drawings, common representation methods of machine parts, fundamentals of mechanical engineering, standard parts, gears, and springs, parts drawings, assembly drawings, three-dimensional solid modeling, and an introduction to other engineering drawings. AutoCAD 2004 drawing software is incorporated into relevant chapters, and each chapter includes a summary and review questions. The book is accompanied by a web-based "Multimedia Teaching System for Engineering Drawing," which contains electronic teaching plans, learning guidance systems, exercise solution systems, and intelligent testing systems. It can be used for self-study by students or as supplementary teaching material, as well as for instructors to teach in multimedia classrooms. The accompanying "Exercise Book for Engineering Drawing" by Zhao Daxing, Editor-in-Chief, is also published by Higher Education Press and is available for selection. This book can serve as a textbook for engineering drawing courses in mechanical and non-mechanical disciplines at ordinary universities and colleges, and can also be used by students in other types of institutions in relevant fields.
