Features: This book compiles nearly 400 historical photographs of Qing Dynasty royal palace architecture and royal figures, sourced from collections both within and outside China, as well as published works from the first half of the 20th century. Except for a very few photos that still need verification, we have annotated each one. For these photographs of royal palace architecture and figures, we have written overviews and descriptions. In some cases, we consulted scholars in relevant fields, while in others, we personally conducted field investigations at certain royal palaces. Collecting, researching, and publishing historical photographs of royal palaces in such a concentrated manner should be considered a new exploration in the study of royal palace culture.
