The human immune system is a complex immune regulatory system that performs physiological immune defense functions under normal conditions. When immune response regulation is abnormal or functionally deficient, it can lead to immune diseases. The detection and application of various immune substances related to immune responses are the main objectives of medical laboratory technology studies, which is the key feature of this book and distinguishes it from Medical Immunology.
The organization of this book differs from the second edition, as it is no longer divided into parts and consists of thirty chapters in total. The chapters are arranged based on the development of immunology theory, technical methodologies, and clinical practice applications, with the goal of ensuring that the textbook content does not fall behind within three years. Immunology technical theory is a key focus of this book and is essential knowledge for medical laboratory technology students to understand and master.
In line with the spirit of the Huangshan meeting in late 2001, the basic immunology knowledge in this book is no longer introduced separately but is briefly presented at the beginning of each chapter, covering the relevant foundational knowledge, terminology, definitions, etc., to facilitate student comprehension and learning.
