Features: This book is the final outcome of the project under the Social Science Planning Program of the Ministry of Education. It introduces the discussions of scholars from ancient and modern times at home and abroad on the issues of good law and its standards, and specifically discusses the value standards, formation standards, procedural standards of good law, as well as the problems of good law and the benign transformation of law in China's rule of law process. It holds that value rationality is the core element of good law, normative rationality is the manifestation of its formation, and procedural legitimacy is the guarantee for its operation. Good law is not only a timeless major topic in legal theory but also a highly important practical issue in economic and social development, and more importantly, a fundamental prerequisite for China's advancement of the rule of law. Therefore, studying this issue is of great significance and far-reaching impact. Good law is a catalyst for social development and more importantly, an obstetrician for social transformation. Social development is gradual, meaning that existing social systems are further perfected through reform to drive social progress; there is also abrupt change, meaning that existing social systems are fundamentally transformed through revolution to advance history. But this is not the beginning of revolution but rather a necessary consequence after the success of revolution.
