Features: When the Major Case and Anti-Terrorism Work Division of the Xi'an Municipal Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Bureau was established, it coincided with the central government's call for a year of research. The Division immediately implemented the "Three Trainings and Three Abilities" and "Six Proficiencies" training programs to enhance the political, professional, and physical qualities of the team, comprehensively improving the professionalism and case-solving capabilities of the criminal investigation team.
"Three Trainings and Three Abilities": Train legs to run, train hands to write, train mouths to speak.
"Six Proficiencies": Proficient in investigation, proficient in interrogation, proficient in evidence collection, proficient in apprehending suspects, proficient in drafting legal documents, and proficient in evidence application. The accumulation and transmission of criminal investigation experience were completed in the form of research projects. The Division requires: Within ten days of solving a case, participating officers must write a case summary and reflection, listing the detours taken, mistakes made, and future countermeasures during the investigation. The issues involved are then categorized and studied in relevant topics to find solutions. By 2004, nearly all influential major cases had been solved. With such intelligence and capability, achieving remarkable achievements was only natural. To summarize the experience for future battles, the Major Case and Anti-Terrorism Work Division compiled this book, "New Criminal Tactics and Investigative Approaches." The cases discussed in the book were all investigated and solved by the Division. The authors are all investigators who "practiced" them personally in their spare time. They wrote with authentic emotions close to the frontline, simple language, and direct expressions, pouring out their sweat and heart, naturally bridging the distance with readers in the same trench.
The purpose of "New Criminal Tactics and Investigative Approaches" is to build a platform for criminal investigation work in our city, to exchange and discuss with colleagues in the city and all peers, seeking new ideas and methods for criminal investigation and case-solving. This book is a side display of the work of the Major Case and Anti-Terrorism Work Division over the past two years, a summary of its research work, and an affirmation and recognition of the work of the investigators involved in the research.
