As a patriotic poet, his posthumous works are a true epic reflecting the hardships of the people of Wenzhou before liberation. Huang Guang (1872—1945), courtesy name Yiqian, styled Meisheng, also known as Meichen, used the courtesy name. From a young age, Huang Guang was exceptionally talented, diligent in learning, filial to his parents, and fraternal to his brothers, earning praise from the elders. With broad interests and versatile talents, he pursued the ideal of "reading ten thousand books and traveling ten thousand miles." In his youth, he studied under Chen Fuchen (Jieshi), focusing on literary and etymological studies. Throughout his life, he delved into classics, poetry, painting, calligraphy, and seal carving. Huang Guang lived through various periods, including the fall of the late Qing Dynasty, the Xinhai Revolution, the rule of the Beiyang Warlords, the authoritarian rule of the Kuomintang, and the invasion of Japanese imperialism. As the years passed, towards the later stages of the War of Resistance, the true nature of the Kuomintang government became exposed. Huang Guang's understanding also gradually deepened. Less than a month after the joyous news of the victory in the "August 15th" War of Resistance arrived in 1945, his prostate condition recurred, and he fell ill. By the end of September, he passed away at the age of seventy-four.
