This small book can be seen as a modest attempt in this regard. The seven articles included in "Miscellaneous Notes from Weiwanzhai" were originally published in the journal "Reading." These reading notes-style articles were published under a column titled "Miscellaneous Notes from Weiwanzhai." "Weiwanzhai" implies that it is already late. In traditional etymology, there is a concept called "antonymic interpretation," which is still studied by etymologists today.
