Features: This book is a compilation of academic papers published by faculty members of the School of International Relations at Peking University from 2005 to 2006, serving as a part of the Peking University Series on International Relations. Since its founding in 1990, the Department of International Politics at Peking University has been collecting the research achievements of its scholars, publishing them under book titles. After the establishment of the School of International Relations at Peking University in 1996, the team expanded and strengthened, continuing to compile and publish papers in this field, with generous support from the Italian social activist and visiting professor at Peking University, Giuseppe E. Valori. Mr. Valori contributed his own written papers, which were published alongside the works of Chinese scholars. In September 2005, the book New Perspectives on International Politics was edited by Professor Liang Shoude as the chief editor, with Professor Fang Lianqing, Professor Pan Guohua, and Associate Professor Wang Lian as deputy editors. It was submitted to the China Social Sciences Press and Hainan Press, becoming the latest volume in this series of paper collections. This book inherits the editing style of the aforementioned multiple collections, showcasing the latest academic achievements of the School of International Relations at Peking University while striving for improvements in both content and form. Most of the authors are middle-aged and young scholars who, in their respective papers, boldly explore and address cutting-edge theoretical issues and current political problems, proposing new ideas and perspectives and fostering academic debate. In addition to providing comprehensive reviews of international politics, many articles unintentionally discuss Chinese diplomacy, analyzing China's current international environment and exploring what lessons China should learn from the political development processes of other countries. This feature of the book aligns perfectly with the educational direction of the School of International Relations at Peking University.
