Features: Archives are not only authentic records of historical activities but also important references for current activities. The purpose of this book is to provide a platform for the development and research of Shanghai archival materials. The book includes archival materials from various government institutions of different historical periods in Shanghai, as well as records from industrial and commercial groups, factories, financial institutions, social organizations, and cultural institutions. It also contains archives from important conferences, major events, and renowned individuals, covering a period of over 150 years from the mid-19th century to the mid-1990s. These rich archives have become valuable resources for historical research, read by many scholars both domestic and international.
The Shanghai Archival Materials Research series is published irregularly, with one to two issues per year, each containing approximately 300,000 words. The columns include thematic research, oral history, archival guides, and archival shelves, among others. Additionally, new columns will be introduced periodically, such as latest developments in modern Chinese and Shanghai history research, translations of foreign academic works, thematic goals of the archives, and newly added or opened archival collections, to make the series more distinctive.
