This book focuses on the doors of architectural groups in rural buildings, including village gates, fortress gates, the main entrances of entire temples, ancestral halls, and residential gates, etc. This book collects more than 110 doors from rural architectural groups across various regions, primarily showcasing their measured drawings, supplemented by relevant photographs and text, arranged in the order of different regions. The opening chapter, "The Doors of Ancient Chinese Architecture," introduces the various forms of doors in ancient architectural groups and the cultural connotations they reflect. Since doors hold a particularly important position in architecture, the culture reflected on them is also more concentrated and prominent, forming a special "door culture." Before the measured drawings and photographs of doors from each region, there is also a brief introduction and analysis of the characteristics of these doors in terms of form and content. While using measured drawings, photographs, and text to depict doors may only showcase the images of more than 110 doors from over a dozen places across the country, far from being the entirety of such doors, it is hoped that readers can appreciate the richness of ancient Chinese architectural culture through them.
