Features: This book is a biography of Tao Juyin, a famous journalist during the Republican era. From 1914, when Tao Juyin joined the Changsha Nüquan Ribao, to 1941, when he launched the Shanghai Xinwen Bao, he worked as a journalist for thirty years. Due to the nature of his work, he met many prominent military and political figures of the time, and he also witnessed the political changes in China during these three decades, many of which were little-known political behind-the-scenes stories. Thirty Years of Journalist Life is a self-reflective memoir written by Tao Juyin in his later years based on his experiences and observations from three decades of news reporting. It was published by the Zhonghua Book Company in 1948. The book, written in a factual style and vivid prose, records the political dynamics from 1912 to 1941 and the author's experiences in the journalistic field, making it highly readable and valuable as historical material. With the generous permission of the descendants of Mr. Tao Juyin, we have re-edited this book, simplified the subheadings of each chapter, added over thirty historical photographs, and added a subtitle, "Witnessing Major Events of the Republican Era," for the new publication. The vast majority of Mr. Tao Juyin's works were published by the Zhonghua Book Company. The re-publication of this book is a tribute to Mr. Tao Juyin and also a continuation of the deep bond he shared with the Zhonghua Book Company through their long-standing collaboration.
