Postmodern Gaps -- A Collection of Doctoral Thought Essays

Features: The authors of this series of books are all young scholars who have obtained doctorates. Some of them are my students, and some, in terms of seniority, can also be considered my students. This is a bit of an advantage for me. It's not that I enjoy being a mentor, but simply because my identity is that of a teacher, and I am also older than them, so they can only be students. However, they are all my friends, and they are all accomplished young colleagues in academia. Therefore, being able to serve as the editor of this series of books does not only bring me honor but also a strong sense of familiarity. This book is not systematically presenting a planned theme of postmodernism; it actually collects some short essays I wrote at different times. To some extent, they express the authors' interpretations of contemporary cultural trends and literary phenomena. Clearly, they encompass both cultural and literary aspects, and the content and interpretive approaches of these two aspects are also different. In terms of ideology and theory, the authors uphold a pluralistic stance, questioning the absolute ideals of dominant culture while showing understanding toward the emerging creative culture that occupies marginal positions.
