Features: This book is a collection of my previous research on the two important classical lyric texts, the Book of Songs and the Songs of Chu. They are now separately included in this volume. The first part, New Evidence on the Book of Songs, is derived from the edited and revised Double Sword: New Evidence on the Book of Songs, published in 1935. The second part includes the Journal of Chinese Literature and the Notes on the Book of Songs from the first and second issues of Zeloju, with some revisions. The third part consists of previously published single-essay papers on the research of the Book of Songs, which have also been slightly corrected. Since they were written at different times, the formatting varies. They are now retained as originally written, but an index is provided at the beginning of each essay for easy reference. New Evidence on the Songs of Chu is an old manuscript from 1963, which was published in the third and fourth issues of Frontline of Social Sciences in 1979. Due to the lack of my proofreading, there were many errors, which are now corrected.
