Features: From Wang Xiaoming's persistent The Pursuit in the Thorny Bush, I read a high-level meaning of life. His effort to seek his spiritual pillar and his desire to rebuild a sound spiritual homeland deeply moved me. Although I know that my heart's resonance may be too faint and my echo might vanish like a gust of wind; although I know that in this material-protected world, we have too much helplessness, our futile efforts may be shattered, I still believe that this relentless pursuit is a high-level meaning of life that every healthy person should strive for.
"The Chinese intellectuals and their spiritual creative endeavors are in the midst of a profound crisis," "From the spiritual needs, from our grasp of the meaning of life, from the ideal of a sound personality, how do you feel about today's situation?" "If it is not despair, disappointment, hesitation, or even pain, and if we are still numb, sluggish, indifferent, without any change in our feelings, or even deepening the crisis, then what is the meaning of our existence?" When anger is due, we self-mock; when shame is due, we rejoice; when sorrow is due, we are oblivious; when contempt is due, we are filled with terror. How can we restore our normal senses and thinking? Return to poetry, return to literature, return to all truly outstanding works of art. This is not just for aesthetic pleasure, but also to break free from vulgar living conditions. We should still believe in what Lu Xun said, "Even if there is no path ahead, we must step into the thorns." Only the spirit of relentless pursuit, the attitude of striving to discover and uphold human inner values, are truly worth cultivating and passing down from generation to generation, unbroken.
