Features: This book is based on Bob Aubrey's experience in consulting work in Europe and his personal insights into various effective learning cultures in Europe. Aubrey initially participated in the establishment of some training academies and public universities modeled after the American model. He witnessed learning sessions that were not organized according to formal study plans and was impressed by the vitality they demonstrated. He began to study what managers did in these informal learning cultures and decided to write a book to summarize his experiences. The book was first published in France and later circulated among learning experts and management researchers in the United States, eventually catching the attention of editor Paul Cohen. Paul Cohen was responsible for the "Organizational Innovation" column in the "Outstanding Results Newsletter" published by Tom Peter Group. He was deeply impressed by Aubrey's unique approach of combining the thoughts of philosophers like Aristotle and Confucius with the practices of companies in the modern world. This historical bridge that Aubrey built made his work in the field of management far exceed what others had done. Subsequently, Cohen invited Aubrey for a meeting in California, where their many insights aligned. They then decided to co-author a new book, hoping to provide American readers with specific information on how to apply these experiences, while also highlighting what companies have done to expand the boundaries of organizational learning. This book is the culmination of two years of collaboration between the two. No one can learn completely independently, and none of us possesses all the skills and resources we need. None of us has reached the point where we no longer need wisdom. We need more wisdom.
