Features: This book serves as a foundational training course in product design (including other broad three-dimensional design). It does not aim to explain the specific design of a particular product, as countless designers are continuously creating new things in the world, making specific product design ever-evolving. The purpose of this book is to explore the composition of design elements in a relatively fundamental way, study the overall effect of a form and its relationship with basic elements, as well as the objective mechanisms formed by these elements. It conducts qualitative and quantitative compositional analyses of simple forms and elements, and by proposing numerous design training exercises, encourages beginners to think and practice, thereby avoiding the creation of superficial and rough forms in the future. This book primarily starts from the basic principles of shaping, and through the explanation of numerous examples, discusses the fundamental issues that should be considered in the development of functional daily-use products. It aims to broaden design perspectives and help readers derive a product design method that suits their needs. This book is a summary of the author's years of teaching reflections. Most of the images used are the author's design schemes and computer-generated three-dimensional sketches, with some assignments completed under the author's guidance by students. Additionally, to illustrate design principles vividly, selected outstanding design works from domestic and international sources have been included. For this, the author expresses sincere gratitude to the relevant authors!
