Features: Infectious diseases are a group of diseases caused by pathogens that can be transmitted among people-to-people, animals-to-animals, or between people and animals. Pathogens refer to a general term for pathogenic microorganisms and parasites. The third edition of the national secondary medical education textbook "Infectious Diseases" is based on the teaching plan and syllabus promulgated by the Ministry of Health in 1994. It was reorganized and revised by the writing team based on the second edition of "Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology," and is intended for use in community medicine, maternal and child health, midwifery, and preventive medicine programs. The book is divided into seven chapters, with only an appendix. Chapter is the general theory, elaborating on the basic theories of infectious diseases, and considering that three out of the four disciplines do not offer a "Epidemiology" course, it provides an overview of the basic theories of epidemiology (infectious disease part) in the general theory. Chapters 2 to 7 cover common infectious diseases, including viral infectious diseases, rickettsial infectious diseases, bacterial infectious diseases, spirochetal infectious diseases, parasitic infections, and helminth diseases.
