Features: The "Outline for the Reform and Development of China's Education" states: "Primary and secondary schools should shift from exam-oriented education to a track that comprehensively improves the quality of citizens, focusing on all students and enhancing their moral, cultural, scientific, labor skills, and physical and psychological qualities." The "Decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Deepening Education Reform and Comprehensively Promoting Quality Education" further clarifies the need to "strengthen students' mental health education," cultivate their perseverance and spirit of hard struggle, and enhance adolescents' ability to adapt to social life." In August 1999, the Ministry of Education issued the "Several Opinions on Strengthening Mental Health Education in Primary and Secondary Schools," proposing more specific measures for conducting mental health education. Under this new situation, we teachers face new challenges: we should consciously prioritize and actively safeguard students' mental health and effectively cultivate and develop their psychological qualities. This requires teachers to enhance their own capabilities through active continuous learning to fulfill the new responsibilities entrusted by the times. The compilation of this book aims to provide assistance to primary school teachers in this regard. The writing of this book was guided by the "Guidelines for the Development of Continuing Education Courses for Primary and Secondary School Teachers" formulated and issued by the Department of Normal Education of the Ministry of Education. During the compilation process, we referred to a large number of domestic and international literature and absorbed the research findings of many fellow scholars.
