Features: The "Comprehensive Course" consists of four volumes, designed as a foundational English curriculum for first and second-year English majors in higher education institutions. It aims to comprehensively improve students' abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation. This textbook was collaboratively developed by Shanghai International Studies University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, and Shanghai Normal University. The types of texts include narratives, expository essays, argumentative essays, and descriptive essays; the topics cover society, culture, politics, ecology, technology, as well as humanistic knowledge, interpersonal relationships, ethics, character development, and more, helping to enrich students' cultural literacy and enhance their overall humanistic qualities. Each volume of the textbook includes 16 units, suitable for a semester-long course. Each volume is accompanied by a detailed teacher's manual.
