Features: The 21st Century is a domestically published English newspaper sponsored by China Daily, the largest English newspaper group in China, and is widely favored by readers, especially young ones. The reason it has such a large readership is undoubtedly its high readability. This readability is reflected in both its content and language. In terms of content, apart from major domestic and international news, many articles published in the newspaper are of interest to young readers and closely related to their lives. In terms of language, the English used in the newspaper is relatively simple, making it accessible to those with English proficiency at the high school level or above. Mastering English as quickly and effectively as possible is a pressing desire for most young people. Extensive reading is an important method for learning a foreign language. However, overall, there are still not enough English publications suitable for young readers. This led us to the idea of selecting some of the best articles from The 21st Century to compile a collection for readers. We reviewed The 21st Century since 1995 and compiled it into four categories: Culture, Language, Science & Technology, and Thought. To reduce the difficulty of reading, we added annotations for some unfamiliar words, challenging points, and complex sentences in the collection. Such reading materials are highly informative and engaging. Readers can not only gain extensive knowledge about the social and cultural aspects of various countries, learn about the English language, and stay updated on the latest technological developments but also understand many life lessons. At the same time, their English proficiency will undoubtedly improve. It can be said to be an excellent way to "learn English in a relaxed and enjoyable manner."
