The College Listening and Speaking Course consists of six volumes, each accompanied by a teacher's book and corresponding audio cassettes. This is the third volume, containing sixteen units, each divided into four parts.
Preparation Activities: Centered around the text topic, these activities encourage students to speak and warm them up for the following listening and speaking exercises.
Listening and Speaking Practice: This section includes two listening materials and two speaking activities, designed to cultivate students' listening and speaking skills. It contains two exercises:
1. Listening Tasks: These tasks train students to understand the main ideas and extract specific information, enabling them to grasp the core message of the text and the author's emotions.
2. Speaking Tasks: These tasks focus on developing students' coherent expression skills, requiring them to respond to the ideas and reflections presented in the text. Students are guided to discuss the set topic, referencing interesting and contrasting sample short essays.
Part C Additional Listening: End-of-unit listening materials include dialogues, short passages, or dictation exercises related to the theme. Some texts also include listening exercises similar to those of the CET-4 and CET-6 exams.
Extra-Class Listening: Provides one extra-class listening exercise or a compound dictation material.
To enhance the fun of the course, odd-numbered units include songs, proverbs, humor, or quotes from famous figures.
Additionally, two sets of comprehensive tests are provided at the end of the book to assess students' listening proficiency.
