Features: This book is compiled based on the new PETS examination syllabus. In terms of content and structure, it is ingeniously designed. Structurally, we separate core vocabulary (unique to this level) and basic vocabulary for different formatting. In terms of content, each entry in this book generally consists of the following parts: headword, phonetic transcription, part of speech, inflectional forms of the headword, definition, memory techniques, typical examples, examination points, vocabulary expansion, and classic examination questions.
(1) Headword: Words and phrases specified in the PETS examination syllabus vocabulary list.
(2) Phonetic Transcription: The pronunciation of the headword is indicated using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) after the headword. If a word has different pronunciations depending on its part of speech, both pronunciations are placed in brackets and separated by a semicolon. Generally, one pronunciation is marked for each headword, but less common variant pronunciations are also provided when necessary, separated by a semicolon.
(3) Part of Speech: The part of speech is indicated in italicized English abbreviations. If a headword has multiple parts of speech, they are arranged in order of commonality.
(4) Inflectional Forms of the Headword: This refers to irregular forms of verbs, irregular plural forms of nouns, and irregular comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs. For the convenience of candidates, we systematically organize and summarize irregular verb forms and irregular plural noun forms, which are included as appendices in the book.
(5) Symbols and Typography Usage Explanation

- [Vocabulary Expansion]: Under this entry, "Synonyms," "Antonyms," "Distinguishing," and "Related" sections are listed to further expand knowledge and facilitate comprehensive understanding.
