Features: Apply clever techniques for efficient memorization; Enjoyable learning with interesting methods; Practice with real exam questions to master vocabulary. This book is compiled based on the new PETS examination syllabus from the Ministry of Education. In terms of content and structure, it is designed with ingenuity and originality. Structurally, we separate core vocabulary (unique to this level) and basic vocabulary. In terms of content, each entry generally consists of the following parts: word, phonetic transcription, part of speech, inflectional forms of the word, definition, memory techniques, typical example sentences, key points, vocabulary expansion, and classic exam questions.
(1) Word: Words and phrases specified in the PETS examination syllabus word list.
(2) Phonetic Transcription: The pronunciation of the word is indicated in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) after the word. If a word has different pronunciations due to different parts of speech, both pronunciations are placed in brackets and separated by a semicolon. Generally, one pronunciation is marked for each word entry, but less common variant pronunciations are also provided when necessary, separated by a semicolon.
(3) Part of Speech: The part of speech is indicated in italics as an English abbreviation. If a word has multiple parts of speech, they are arranged in order of commonality.
(4) Inflectional Forms of the Word: Refers to irregular forms of verbs, irregular plural forms of nouns, and irregular comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs. For convenience, we systematically organize and summarize irregular verb forms and irregular plural noun forms, which are included as appendices in the book.
