It serves as a comprehensive French translation textbook. The purpose of this book is to systematically enhance students' vocabulary and grammar knowledge, as well as improve their reading and word-meaning differentiation skills through reading and exercises. The book consists of 8 units, with 2 lessons per unit. Each lesson is divided into two main parts: text and exercises. The themes of the 8 units are successively: Sports and Entertainment, Tourism and Transportation, Politics and Society, Culture and Heritage, Education and Health, Economy and Business, Industry and Agriculture, and Science and Technology. The two texts in each unit are selected around the corresponding themes, and a basic vocabulary list, phrase list, text notes, and reading comprehension questions related to the themes are provided after each text. Since translation covers a wide range of topics, the vocabulary and phrase lists will be helpful for learners engaging in specific translation activities. The notes are mainly written in French and focus on key points within the texts, assisting learners in understanding the texts and expanding their knowledge. The post-lesson questions serve as exercises, deepening comprehension and reinforcing knowledge. The exercises are designed according to the exam format, divided into four parts: vocabulary and grammar, reading comprehension, cloze, and composition. Among these, the reading materials, cloze, and composition are all based on the lesson themes and, like the texts, use as up-to-date materials as possible to expand knowledge. However, considering the practical needs of exam preparation, the vocabulary and grammar exercises are independently designed. At the end of the book, there is an additional exercise and answer guide.
