Features: High Old Village had a good start, but after its first publication by Taibai Literature and Art Press, it was quite lonely domestically, except for a single annotated edition published by Yangtze River Literature and Art Press. I don’t understand why some publishers, when soliciting manuscripts, make solemn promises, but after printing a large quantity at once, they just abandon it. They are eager for quick profits and don’t make an effort to promote long-selling books, harming the interests of both authors and readers, as well as their own. Counterfeit books naturally take advantage of the vacuum, and the pirated versions of High Old Village are so terrible that they are unbearable—the paper is coarse, the binding is chaotic, and the text is so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it. The proposal by Golden Harvest Series to rerelease High Old Village has made me relieved, as it feels like rescuing a virtuous woman from a brothel.
