Features: The Adventures of Pinocchio was originally titled The Story of a Puppet. It was written at the request of the editor of Il Giornale dei Bambini to provide "educational and enjoyable reading for young readers." It was serialized in Il Giornale dei Bambini from 1881 until it was completed in 1883, and later published as a standalone book. At the time, it did not receive much social attention. It was not until after 1914 that it gained recognition from readers and critics, being hailed as "a masterpiece of Italian children's literature" and "the most beautiful book in Italian children's literature." The Adventures of Pinocchio was not only widely distributed in Italy but also translated into various languages and spread around the world. It was adapted into television shows, animated films, and stage productions. On the 100th anniversary of The Adventures of Pinocchio's publication, Italy held a large-scale symposium and organized various performances. The long-nosed puppet Pinocchio became a household name in fairy tales.
Pinocchio, the long-nosed puppet, is a magical puppet who can walk, run, jump, talk, laugh, and cry. He was carved from a piece of ordinary wood by old Geppetto. After his birth, he ran away from home and caused many troubles. He was mischievous, loved to lie, disliked studying, and, under the influence of bad children, skipped school to visit the "Land of Toys." Although he had a lot of fun there, he faced consequences. He went through hardships, learned his lesson in the end, and finally reformed, becoming a hardworking, honest, helpful, and studious child.
