Liu Yin: A Biography

Author: Shang Jude

Publish Date: 1996-03-01
Features: This book is the first comprehensive monograph on the life and thought of Liu Yin since the liberation. Liu Yin was a famous Yuan Dynasty thinker, renowned alongside Xu Heng and Wu Cheng, and left behind the "Jingxiu Collection." However, there has been relatively little discussion about Liu Yin in the past, and his writings are often overly concise, making it difficult to grasp the depth of his thoughts. This book takes Liu Yin's life, his historical context, and the development of Neo-Confucianism as the background, using his poetry and prose as evidence, to conduct a detailed analysis of his philosophy, classical studies, historiography, and artistic thought. It strives to uncover the essence of his ideas, trace their development, reveal their substance, and provide an objective and concise evaluation.
