Do I still need to get another injection?

Patient's question:

I have been married for two years without using contraception, and my wife has not become pregnant.

Doctor's answer:

Being overweight can affect fertility.
For low gonadotropin levels, urinary gonadotropin and hCG injections can be used for treatment, but the treatment cycle is long, usually measured in years, to see if there is any effect. For example, a patient previously received injections for 2 years and some sperm were produced in the semen. Of course, it doesn’t guarantee effectiveness. If it ultimately proves ineffective, then microsurgical sperm retrieval can be considered. Some people may still be able to retrieve sperm (with a higher probability than before medication).
If your desire for treatment is strong, you might consider continuing the injections. As for the probability of cure, I can confidently tell you that it is generally impossible to return to normal. Currently, all efforts are aimed at the opportunity to use your own sperm for IVF to achieve fertility.
