Features: "Poetry Magazine" is the official publication of the Chinese Writers' Association. It was conceived and prepared in 1956. At that time, Xu Chi and some other comrades discussed that poetry needed a platform and that it would be good to establish a national poetry magazine. Comrade Xu Chi also raised this issue at a council meeting of the Writers' Association. Later, because I had just been transferred to the Secretariat of the Writers' Association to serve as Secretary, everyone urged me to try and advocate for this with the leadership of the Writers' Association. I shared the group's ideas with Liu Baiyu, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the Writers' Association, and also discussed it at a meeting of the Secretariat. Soon after, Comrade Baiyu told me that the leadership had approved the publication of "Poetry Magazine," and I was very happy to hear this.
