Features: China has never had "private law" since ancient times. There were no "private law relationships" among the people. Even marriage relationships were under control. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, "private law" was still not recognized, and civil law was treated as public law. In terms of marriage, although "freedom of marriage" was advocated, marriage registration was still controlled and managed by "organizations" or "units." Even in civil litigation, there was "unlimited intervention." This situation greatly hindered the development of our country. The purpose of editing this publication was not only to inherit and promote the private law culture of the civil law system but also to fill a gap in a country lacking the influence of a rights culture.
