Features: Report 2005 focuses on the study of modernization in the world economy. It employs a combination of economic time-series analysis, economic cross-sectional analysis, and quantitative evaluation to analyze the 300-year historical process of global economic modernization. It has completed a quantitative evaluation of economic modernization in 131 countries over the past 52 years, summarized 26 facts and 14 insights about the modernization of the world economy, expanded classic economic modernization theories, summarized the principles and methods of broad economic modernization, and proposed several recommendations to promote China's economic modernization, including the Canal Strategy and Roadmap for China's economic modernization. The report has completed quantitative evaluations of the economic modernization process in 52 years (1950-2002) in China and in 34 provincial regions over 20 years. It has also analyzed the modernization indices of 131 countries worldwide and 34 regions in China in 2002, providing foundational data and extensive information for scientific research and policy-making. Report 2005 reflects the current research progress of the China Modernization Strategy Research Group. Economic modernization in the world is dynamic, and China's economic modernization is complex. It is hoped that the research group can continuously deepen and improve its research results, strengthen policy-oriented research, and that the group's perspectives can spark broader discussion.
